• There are many ways on how you can make an earring display stand. What is important is that the earring display stand is strong enough to carry the weight of the accessories. If you plan to make one, you will need the following materials: corkboard, plastic, a thin plywood, a picture frame (optional), paint, and clear acrylic, and some paintbrushes.
• Before you make your own earring display stand, you need to come up with a design that will suit the theme of your room. On the other hand, it is compeltely optional if you want or don't want to follow the look of your area. There are so many ways on how to dress up your cork board. You can cover it with different fabrics; or, you can paint on it. If you plan to paint on it, make sure you use some white latex paint to prime the corkboard. This serves as a layer to help bring out the color of the paint. Chances are if you paint on an unprimed corkboard, the colors will not be that evident.
• Then when you are done adding life to your corkboard, it is now time to add life to your frame. Use flat latex to prime the frame so it will be easier to paint it over. Once done, let it dry and spray some clear acrylic to protect and add shine to the frame. Let it dry as well. As soon as the corkboard and frame are ready, you will have to assemble it. Put the corkboard into the frame and then put the plywood. Seal the plywood by hammering the sides with nails. Then seal it off with paper tape. This saves you the hassle of inserting screws.
• Now that you are done, use some nice sewing pins to serve as holders for your earrings. You can display this near your dressing table or bathroom so it will be easier for you to choose the right earrings that go with your outfit. The good thing about using corkboards, you can easily adjust the pins to accomodate to your earrings.
